Assoc. Pastor of Outreach: Joseph H Thomas
Hello, my name is Joseph Thomas. My wife and I attend the Chambersburg Church of the Nazarene. The church is a urban church filled with a multi-culture people from a multi-cultural community. We are blessed to be here at the Chambersburg Church of the Nazarene. I am humbled by your acceptance of my wife and I as your Assoc. Pastor of Outreach. I thank you for my first step in Pastoral life receiving my local minister license. I pray that our vision of outreach is one we do together and we all learn to be servants without expecting anything in return.
I am married to a fine and outstanding Christian lady and now have two fine Stepsons and a lovely daughter and three grandsons. I became a member of the church of the Nazarene in 1994 and sanctification came in 2004. The calling to be a teaching Pastor (Deacon) came at the same moment in 2004. Did it ever come! God was very plain about learning more of his word.
I have a disability that sprung up in 1986 and since has been a thorn in my side. It is Agoraphobia with panic and anxiety attacks. The Agoraphobia has subsided tremendously. I still have a hard time but with God’s grace anything is possible.
There were many arduous roads to finding a methodical way of learning in the Nazarene affiliate with my disability. Then Nazarene Bible College offered Ministry Preparation Program with the alliance Classes. I have completed 14 out 24 college classes and completing the 15th as of this writing. I have graduated from Shippensburg High School and Franklin County Vo-Technical Schools in 1977.
My wife and I are strongly involved with our local church. She is a Junior Church Teacher, member of the Outreach Team.. We have just finished up a run of a small home group on Sunday evenings for the past four years, also involved with Angel Food Ministries, NaZation ministries, Coffeehouse, Website, Prayer and Announcement email for two churches, teaching Sunday school and Tuesday Evenings. My wife and I are also cross-involved with each others ministries too.
God is very good to my wife and I. We are blessed with so much. God seems to be leading us in the same direction. We have often talked about the different ministries we would like to do and get done. Our path has been laid before us. May God always lead us, always.
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Amen
